Professor Esteban Parra is a molecular anthropologist interested in the application of genetic markers to answer questions related to the evolution of human populations and to identify the genetic factors involved in complex traits and diseases. He has been involved in recent efforts to characterize the genetic architecture of COVID-19 severity, and is interested in exploring the association of genetic and immunological factors with long COVID cognitive dysfunction.
